I talked to a guy on 20 this morning who got an advanced copy Thursday night. (Probably one of the black box testers) He didn't say anything about what was updated because he had to leave for a meeting and the QSO only lasted two minutes...... I have the day off and a long weekend and would love to play with a new update! (If it passes muster)

Thanks for the update Ken, I too have a long weekend and really wanted to play with the new version and GET ON AM!! I found a 23" monitor that wasn't doing anything useful so I replaced the 20"er as my 6000 display, WOW very nice!! Ciao, Dennis, k0eoo

Are you doing dual monitors yet? That is when it really gets neat! I currently have a 22" and a 19" and will be replacing the 19" with a duplicate of the 22 so I can have common setups. But I will need a new video card to run both on HDMI. My current computer card has one HDMI & one VGA.

I have two monitors also, a 22" and the new 23" Samsung SM2333, it has truly great color and contrast. Think I might replace the 22"er with one...

That's bad news and good news. But I guess I will be able to work on my antennas this weekend instead of playing with the new software....

I hope there is a fix for the CW Keyer bug in the release. Any QSO longer than a minute is likely to include a missed DIT or two. Sounds like it may be a 1-2 weeks before the beta group (i.e. preview group) gets the update. Alpha next week --> BlackBox group --> Beta group Regards, Al / NN4ZZ

Note that development never stops while a version is in the QA process. The next iteration wraps up Monday. It is happening in parallel. We may be in gray box test on the next release before you get the last one.

Al, we worked on QSK CW this week and found the source of the problem you are describing. We were periodically gathering detailed telemetry on the power supplies (about 20-30 parameters) which could stall the keyer when we did it. We've remanded this code to just the factory testing branch as it was primarily there for factory test: the radio measures its own voltages, currents, fan speeds, etc and tells us if it is working correctly. We cannot seem to make the keyed stall like this any more. We are planning to work this code into 0.15.x, but we don't have a lot of hours on the code. If we have issues in testing we may pull it, but either way it is coming down the pike in the near future.

Steve, Good news, that sounds like what we we hypothising. It felt like a higher priority process interrupting the keyer code. Will be great to get this one fixed! Regards, Al

Sergey I love running SmartSDR on my iMAC 27. I am using Parallels 8 with Win Pro 7 and a Navigator for the digital stuff. And like you I can't wait to start testing a new one :-) Don - kx9q

Dave, what hardware/software do you need to get 3 monitors going?

I replaced my stock video card with one that supports up to 4 monitors. I'm currently using three monitors ( 22 inch, 27 inch, 22 inch ). Let me know if you would like to see some pictures and video card details. email al@nn4zz.com Regards, Al / NN4ZZ

So, Steve, Now are you going to sample power supplies one at a time in sequence instead of all at once?
