"Tune" and "ATU" on SSB should be zero beat.

One of the things I loved about my Kenwood TS-850SAT was that when I entered the "Tune" function, the carrier was zero beat to the stations I was listening to. This tended to reduce interference to them and to the folks on the next frequency because it was too high a frequency to bother them, usually. It was especially handy on 40 - 160 rag chew frequencies and nets. Could this be implemented for "Tune" and "ATU" when on SSB in the 6000 series, or perhaps make the "tune" offset adjustable for those who wish to do it this way?

Another vote for this.
This is the way PowerSDR functions today.
Makes it nice for calibrating UPlink/Downlink when using satellites in addition to not interfering.
I'm so used to PowerSDR doing this I've had to apologize quite a bit :-)0 -
Hi Ken, This question came up back in the beginning with no response from Flex. I think if Flex could have made Tune in the 6000 work the same as in PSDR they would have... My guess is the FPGA and/or the DUC technology may require a tone to imitate transmit or be required by one of the algorithms.... Maybe Flex will respond to your asking the question....0

The response will come shortly, like in the next version of SmartSDR.2

I need to wipe the egg off my face and spit out the crow feathers, The program change to set the tune frequency on the carrier did not make the cut for SmartSDR v1.2.17. It is slated for 1.3 due out later this month. Sometimes you get confused what is slated for one release when you are working on two at one time. Sorry, my bad.0

That's OK, Tim. I wasn't expecting v.1.2.17 anyway and assumed your previous comment meant v.1.3 at the end of July. I won't be able to try v. 1.2.17 until Saturday in any case.0
