Did not have the 6500 on for several days while using the F5K. powering on the 6500 and ERROR PHS5V3-5.88 came up with red flashing light. Message said "raddio shutting down" but didn't in a few minutes so I disconnected power and restarted. Appears to be function normally now. K3PD

Hi Harvey: If this was a one time event, I would just keep going. If it happens on a recurring basis, the radio may need to come back for warranty service. What the message means is that the internal power supply monitor and sequencer (called a PSoC) saw a voltage of 5.88 Volts on the 5.3 Volt power distribution rail, and chose to go into shutdown. The unit should have shut down operating, shut off all fans, and stopped communicating with the controlling PC, but the blue front panel display (which is under control of the PSoC) will remain lighted until the radio is power cycled. --- Graham / KE9H
