There is power there, but no USB "device" functionality.

The resounding answer is... probably. We've already seen one case where the power supply isolation in the powered speaker set was not great and any sort of modulation on the radio's power supply during transmit would come riding through onto the speakers. I know this is not the best answer but: "Try it!" is my best suggestion. 73, Greg

I have been using a USB powered speaker system for 3 weeks and it works very well but the speakers will cut out if to much power is used at high volumn. Nice because when you shut off the radio the speaker power is shut off.

As per the SmartSDR Release Notes, we do not recommend plugging anything into the USB connectors on the radio. it may work, but if you experience strange behavior, please un-plug all USB devices from the radio.
