SmarSDR v1.4 - So-far-so-good!

Hi FRS. I've just installed v1.4 on both my shack and remote computers both running Windows 8.1 with quad core CPUs and 16 Gig of RAM, next step is to install on my MacBook Pro and on my Linux systems both  in VMware. The install went flawlessly and I can successfully remote over my local LAN.  Will keep you posted of any bugs that may show up.

note: Like most of us I was a bit disappointed about the delay but am please with what I've seen for far.

Keep it up!

    Ah!, hit a road bump!!

    Radio: Flex6300

    Scenario #2
Hardware: MacBookPro 15'', Mac OS =Yosemite, RAN 8 Gig, 250Gig SD HD
Software: Windows 8.1 running in VirtualBox for Mac.

The installation of SmartSDR v1.4 when fine, all components installed on a clean computer no other software installed.

    The Problem:
    1. When SmartSDr 1.4  is started, no slice is displayed and there is some latency when loading.
    2. When the slice is activated (still not very fast loading), all of the network antenna bars are green (I        am sitting right next to my wireless router.)
    2. After about one minute of a slice being up, remote selected and no audio it dies with the "The         connection to the radio was lost. Please reconnect" message.
    4. I connected the laptop directly to the LAN and still encountered the reconnect message.

Note: This is currently working on a stand alone Win8.1 system connected directly to my LAN.

    Any thoughts ?

    Peter

Not enough resources to load the SmartSDR application under a virtual environment quickly enough before the radio disconnects due to no response to the keep-alive packets.

Sorry Tim, I don't quite get your response.

You are running SmartSDR in a VM.  If there are not enough resources allocated to allow the program to operate at native speeds, then you are going to have issues.  If you can allocate more resources to the VM, that might help.  Otherwise, you may have to operate on a native version of Windows or a different hypervisor.

Why is this in the Flex-3000 category?
