The first beta of SDR-Bridge V3 was DOA. It’s amazing what damage a single stray line of code can do! It crept in after most of my tests, and wreaked havoc with skimmer synchronization. Sorry about that folks. Moving on:

The second public beta of SDR-Bridge V3 is available for download. This version has been tested with SmartSDR v3.0.19.

http://www.qrv.com/download/SdrBridgeV3_v3.0.2_beta_setup.exe

NEW in this version: SPOT support for CW Skimmer, Skimmer Server, and Internet clients.

This is a new install in addition to the previous version. SDR-Bridge V3 only works with the new SmartSDR V3. The previous version only works with older SmartSDR software like v2.4.9. You can switch between versions at any time. Just be sure to use the one that matches the software version on your radio.

Enjoy!

Thanks for all the hard work Ed!   I'm curious if your latest new version (SdrBridge V3_v3.0.2 will still work with Flex Radios still on older SSDR Version 2 softrware???

No. You need to use the 1.x version of SDR Bridge.

SDR Bridge 3.x is not backwards compatible with SSDR 1.x or 2.x

Dave is correct. Both versions can be installed at the same time. Just choose the correct one for the current radio software.

Ed, thanks for the quick response.

Rick, how are you set up?  I'm seeing a few issues on my end.  If I try to change the slice receiver frequency by clicking on the Skimmer waterfall, the green arrow changes to the new frequency for <1 second, then flips back to the original frequency.  No change happens on SSDR.  Changing the frequency on SSDR usually works but I have intermittent failures.  Also intermittent failures with the LO frequency following DAX IQ frequency when a new panadapter position is chosen.  On the Skimmer tab, all options are checked except the last one.

Running Win 10 Pro, 1809 on an i7.  Both computer and Flex are networked with CAT 6 to router.  I realize it is beta, so maybe this is known.

    Thanks, Chuck

The only time I have seen the “go to new frequency for a second or less, then flip back”, is when I have the TX frequency locked on the SSDR interface (in my case a button on the front panel of the 6600M).

Yes, I've seen that as well, but in this case, the slice is definitely not locked.  I do recall on rare occasion, seeing SSDR behave the same way when trying to change bands (using left panel) or modes (using slice receiver) on SSDR v3.

Chuck, that sounds suspiciously like v3.0.1 (beta1) behavior. Please check the bottom line of the SDR-Bridge V3 panel, or look in About and make sure it says v3.0.2.

Also there can be issues with CW Skimmer itself. Sometimes a reboot helps.

Let me know how it goes!

Wow, thanks again!  v3.0.2-much better.  Responds quickly to both SSDR and Skimmer waterfall clicks and the LO freq tracks beautifully!

Ed - not sure if this is V3-specific issue with the Beta or not (don't recall seeing it before). After closing down SDR-Bridge and CW Skimmer, I am finding there are two zombie cwskimmer.exe processes running when I look in Task Manager. I **** them manually and then everything works again (it's not an issue until you try to launch SDR Bridge again for a new session later).

    Rick,

Yes, I've seen those Skimmer remnants. The problem seems to have been introduced by Win10 upgrades.

When SDR-Bridge starts it looks for Skimmer ghosts and if it finds them, kills them. Somehow these remnants of Skimmer are getting past the checks. I am looking into this and hopefully will find a way to detect and **** these remnants.

    Thanks for the report.
