Control 6600M via front and computer at the same time?

I think till now, you could only connect with one computer or Maestro to a flex radio. Is this limitation lifted with the 6600M?  Can the front panel control the rig and a separate computer as well (at the same time)?

That is a limitation of software, not hardware.. multi-client and multi-controller is on the list for future development for all SSDR capable rigs. How long will it take? We don't know yet. They haven't said.

The 6400M/6600M will ship with SmartLink, which means they start out with SmartSDR v2.x Multiple clients is a v2.x feature but way follow in an update if not ready when the radios ship. So the answer is any limitation will eventually be lifted. 73 Steve K9ZW

Flex will gravitate to a standalone radio with everything in the firmware. You just have to be able to "talk" to it remotely or spin the knobs. Flex realizes Icom is coming up fast.

Depends on the topology. If you put the radio in a closet in a rack or 100 miles away at the base of a tower why would you want to spend an extra grand for a front panel? 73 W9OY

Yes. The 'M' option is a great way for FRS to do this, and fills in the price points wonderfully. Don't need the control surface? Don't pay for it.
