I wanted to pass this on. I had my radio looked at as it was crashing non-stop. I sent it in, they cleaned it up, could not get it to crash themselves during their testing. I received it back set it up and crashed multiple times. I discussed this with one of my fellow Flex users I get help from. He recommended not to use Profiles as he has found issues with others with their setups.

I now have 2 Profiles. I use "Stacks" to make frequency changes. I have not had any crashing since I stopped using the profiles. It is not as easy as just selecting one button push and change four slices, but it also has not crashed.

So. The Profiles part of the SDR Software has an issue that at least I have. It not only crashes the software but the radio also shuts down and restarts, would get a single red light error code when it occurred.

I just wanted to make it known that I am no longer having issues since I am not using the profiles at all as my ticket was closed out.

    FRStack is my add-on of choice. The memories are much more functional and flexible than the profiles in SmartSDR. Plus a veritable plethora of additional features, like monitoring temperature, voltage and many other features. I don't operate without it.

    Thank you @"Glenn Depp" Since my the FLex 6600 is my secondary rig, I just got around to importing my profiles today and also noticed that they crash SmartSDR and cycles the radio in the same manner that you describe. I also noticed that latest version of SliceMaster also causes the same "Crash."

    I have added WSJT manually and I will enter new profiles or move FRStack.

    Glad I checked here and haven't wasted a boot load of time

    I have a group of profiles that I use in SO2R operation during RTTY contests. I have used this configuration since 2018 without any problems. After changing to version 4 I started seeing crashes when switching profiles. Very annoying in the middle of a contest! I hold my breath and cross my fingers every time I switch. I think this is a problem with the new version of SmartSDR.

    Well, I encourage checking out FRstack. In general, it it much more flexible and reliable that the provided Flex profiles. Also many additional functions are available.
