How to repair PowerSDR After update SmartSDR v4.2.18

S-SDR v42.14 installed without issues after uninstalling previous versions as recommended. The only snag was with the WSJTx RX audio, which I had to set to DAX RX1 in my case. However, when trying to launch my Flex1500 POWER SDR 2.8, the program immediately closes. I suspect the PowerSDR database XML may have been corrupted by the new install, since both SmartSDR and PowerSDR are in the Flexradio directory. Now I’m stuck, as downloading PowerSDR 2.8 is blocked unless I bypass the safe option. Anyone have a solution?

    Problem solved. I manually removed the two Program Files (x86) directories of PowerSDR (be careful not to touch the SmartSDR directories by mistake). It’s possible that using the “Remove PowerSDR” option in the full installer would also work. The KE9NS page probably explains all this, but I don’t think I read it carefully enough. The PowerSDR full installer needs to run in Windows 7 compatibility mode and as administrator. After that, I was able to import the database backup to restore the settings. KE9NS: always make a backup by exporting the database to save the program settings.

    I still can’t get the Flex1500 running with PWR-SDR 2.8.****. I suspect that removing all previous versions of Smart SDR, also deleted components needed by PowerSDR v2.8, possibly SmartSDR version 5.0. When I installed PowerSDR on a clean PC, I noticed something like SmartSDR V5.0 being installed during the process. However, on the other PC where P-SDR with the Flex1500 had worked for many years, after uninstalling and reinstalling PowerSDR, it still doesn’t detect the missing older SmartSDR version 5.0. The program starts and immediately closes again, whether in demo mode or connected to the Flex1500.

    I think the removing and re-install of Smart SDR is fooled by windows that Smart SDR version 5.00 still is installed deep down i the system

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor.
