Aurora Microphone

While this is an old post, I was curious myself. Going through the contents list on my just arrived AU510 a FMH-3 hand microphone was in the contents. Though, going through the Quick Start Guide, I was a little surprised they went only showed the 3.5 mm MIC jack port on the radio for the 3.5 mm pin. No mention of the RCA jack on the splitter of the mic. Further investigation I read that the 8000 was similar in hardware and looking in the FLEX-8000 Hardware Reference Manual available for download at FlexRadio.com, it mentions: "The microphone connects to the Microphone and Push-to-Talk inputs on the back panel" under the "Connecting the FHM-3 Microphone" heading.

Quite surprised they wouldn't have mentioned it in the Quick Start Guide. Especially that the FLEX-8000 reference mentions that this microphone requires a DC bias to operate and to be sure to enable the bias in the radio software.
