IEEE 802.3af/at PoE+

I have a network switch that is IEEE 802.3af/at PoE+ compliant. It has 8 ports: 4 that can provide POE. It is plug and play, not a managed switch. See

TL-SF1008P | 8-Port 10/100Mbps Desktop Switch with 4-Port PoE+ | TP-Link

I want to use this switch with a Flex 6600 and Maestro B or C. I don’t want to use it to provide power, just for network connectivity.

Can the POE ports on the switch safely be used with the radio and the Maestros? I’m thinking yes but I have been unable to find anything directly related to this in the Flex documentation.

No replies here so I opened a Help Desk ticket to which I received this prompt answer from Tim W4TME:

"The answer is yes, you can use an IEEE 802.3af/at PoE+ compliant with our products. The PoE protocol only provides power to devices that request it. None of our products utilizes or requests PoE."
