Mounting 8600 on its side / Under Desk PC Mount

I just purchased a new sit/stand desk with a couple under desk PC mounts.

As I was hoping, the under desk PC holder was adjustable enough that it would hold an 6600/8600 perfectly.

Are there any issues with the 6600/8600 oriented this way?, I wouldn't think so.

An Aurora would make this the ideal minimalist operating desk.

I currently have a rack mount for all the equipment. This requires the extension of the cables for the cw paddle, speakers, headset etc. With the 6600/8600 under the desk I only need to have a couple coax cables go from the rig to the PGXL. All the other cables are self contained on the desk and can reach the 6600/8600 without extensions.

Now to find a good location for a power supply on the desk. An Aurora wouldn't have this problem.

As long as the fan outlets are clear, I can't see any reason this wouldn't work perfectly. Just make sure (as I think it is) that the front panel is visible so you can see the lights during startup, in case there are any 'red' flashes… :-)

One of the advantages of having a "non-M" version.
