Eric and Lacy, what are the stars in your comments? Brand names? Cuss words? Curious for future reference. Thanks

Laci, in a contest, the fastest most reliable method I have found is to cut off the power to the TGXL for a few seconds then power it back on.

I checked my delays and the Genius Integration Tab.

I sure hope my Flex Radio Dream Station works today. I am W1AW/0 on 6 bands. It would be a shame if it didn't work.

Well it looks like this forum censors the use of the term '****'. Guess I should have said 'secondary'. :)

I was attempting to use my DXE 2x8 antenna switch with custom software for the relay controller that acted as a secondary faux-AG to a primary AG I had acquired along with the TG. That would give me a 2x14 switch using the AG stacking mode that uses antenna 7 & 8 to connect to the secondary switch.

Anybody hear any more since the last post? Seems ridiculous that you uncheck PGXL on the Genius "Integration" Tab, but I did it. Here's the last I heard from them. Pretty sure I shouldn't have to pay to have this addressed…

I am going to ask Dave De **** to look at this.  He is our resident expert on TGXL interfacing with Flex Radios. He may need to schedule a Paid FlexAdvantage session to log in to your computer and look at things.

Paul, the PG CL checkbox in Genius Integration is only required for non-Flex transceivers. Checking it allows CAT from OEM radio to PG then PG sends band and frequency data to the TG over the LAN.

In a Flex/4O3A environment communications between PG and TG are over the LAN when both have the Flex defined in the Flex tab in both apps.

This is covered in the Flex Dream Station configuration guide.

The function of the checkbox in Genius Integration is not clear. While it is spelled out in some of the documentation, the checkbox should state explicitly when it is to be used. It would aleviate confusion.

The Interlock AMP:TG error occurred after I had just done a Factory Reset on the AG (it was confused, and after the re-set, all good). I discovered I had not correctly completed the Port A and Port B Flex Radio Integration configuration in the AG app Device Settings. Adding the association with my 8600 in that setup step solved the Interlock problem and all is well. Hats off to the authors of the fine and very thorough article on the "dream station." https://helpdesk.flexradio.com/hc/en-us/articles/20826281594011-Configuring-the-Dream-Station-FLEX-8000-6000-with-the-PGXL-TGXL-AG-for-Proper-Operation

@Geoff AB6BT the PG XL checkbox is used when you are integrating the PG and TG with a non-Flex radio. This allows you to send CAT or CI-V to the PG XL which in turn sends frequency info to the TG via the LAN, thus requiring only one CAT/CI-V connection instead of two.

The AG integration should be checked when using a TG DO2R with an AG 2x8 so the TG can pull antenna info from the AG. This gives you 20 memories per band per antenna (if you have multiple antennas for a band).

Hi Dave…Yes I understand but I think it would be beneficial to have that noted somewhere next to the checkbox.

The documentation for non-Flex transceivers is covered in chapter 6.4 of the Tunet Genius user guide.

For an all Flex station, the settings are covered in the Flex Radio Dream Station setup guide.

    Thanks Dave…

I understand that as well. The user guide does explain when to check the checkbox.

I expect that some folks don't read the manual completely or read previous posts prior to their initial set up.

I still believe it would be helpful to have a tool tip or some other reminder of the application of the checkbox.

I would submit that request to 4O3A. They make the Genius products and write the utility software.

Sorry for the cross post. I put this under the Maestro thread but, this one is much more active and wanted to see if there's any more info on this out there:

Another contest weekend nearly in the books. Only a few crashes on the first night. As was suggested I'm trying to pin down specific events to help you troubleshoot. The first time, an hour into the contest, Maestro was on the local radio LAN. I entered 28001 in N1MM+ entry window to QSY. Immediately got the message on transmit "Interlock is preventing transmission AMP:AG". I switched to SmartLink but a similar thing happened shortly after. It kept happening every 1-2 hrs I'd say throughout the weekend. It seemed pretty random most of the time and usually independent of band changes. It did seem to happen more often when I was running. Sometimes, I'd let it rest a few seconds and it would work again. Other times, I'd have to cycle TGXL. Once, I had to recycle it and PGXL. Lost a few multipliers which is frustrating, but for someone contesting with a Dream Station at a sub-elite level, it's useable. Has there been any progress on a fix? I read that switching to analog PTT has helped some contest stations. Is there a recommended way of doing that on a remotely operated station?
