FreeDV on SmartSDR for Mac + 8600?

Hi

I tried to search the forum for the above topic, but most of posts are related to SmartSDR for Windows. Has anyone tried to integrate FreeDV for Mac and SmartSDR for Mac successfully yet? I'm pretty interested in this mode and any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi Stan -

    I have FreeDV for Mac, version 2.2.1 running well with my 8400 and SmartSDR for Mac.

    On the SmartSDR side, the only thing I have is Slice A DAX sending audio on Channel 1. I don't have any Radio CAT Control enabled. I only have one slice open.

    On the FreeDV side, I have Tools → Easy Setup… configured per the below screenshot:

    In FreeDV, after clicking on "Start Modem" you should see the waterfall, and clicking on any frequency in the FreeDV Reporter window should immediately change the VFO frequency on the Flex. You'll also want to mute the slice in SmartSDR so the audio will come from only the FreeDV app.
