Selecting a good Mic for 8600 - advise needed

Hi

I currently use an older Heil GM4 balanced mic with a wide and narrow element. TBH, I'm not very satisfied with it and I wonder if someone could recommend a better/tested mic brand/type.

I usually focus on DXing than rag chewing, so a cutting strong modulation would be the best for me. But having an option for rag-chewing would be nice, too.

I also try to finde a good UCB-C mic that was already successfully tested with Flex.

Any recommendations?

Hi Stan… The Heil mics are pretty well regarded, so I'm wondering what you're looking for in a 'better' mic?

Using the TX equalizer, you can pretty well tailor almost ANY mic to your voice and/or the characteristics you want on your transmitted signal.

I have used a Heil 781 on Flexradio equipment for 7+ years with very good results.
