No audio on iPad connection?

The radio is 8400M running SmartSDR v.4.1.5.
All works fine locally on the 8400M itself, all operates fine from my Mac via local network, and fine from my iPhone via WiFi.
However... When connecting with my iPad Pro on the very same WiFi network there is no audio on the iPad but mysteriously the 8400M itself starts playing audio at seemingly full volume! Note that all setting are such that the radio itself should be muted when a remote connection is active, and indeed it is on all remote device connections EXCEPT from the iPad Pro.
* Thanks in advance for any help on this.🙂

SmartSDR for iOS requires an iPad running at least iOS 18.

Which in turn requires an iPad equipped with at least an Apple A12 Bionic chip or newer.

You may find that if you downgrade back to SmartSDR v3 the audio will work.

yea when we upgrade the Firmware on the Flex Radio's it would be nice to know what 3rd party hardware won't work any longer, I have 1 IPAD that will work my others won't forcing me to all make an expensive purchase to replace the other IPads

Since Flex Radio only develops their firmware specifically to work with SmartSDR in Windows, I would think it is up to the 3rd party developer that sells and supports a graphical interface for a different operating system to support any new firmware features that Flex Radio adds to the radio itself. As far as testing with different hardware, for the different operating system, I think that could possibly be more expensive than the 3rd party developer might want to do.

In this case, I think asking Marcus about issues related to his implementation of SmartSDR on Apple devices would be a better idea.

Thank you John K3MA, (and all here) for the replies.👍️
What I need to do is buy a new iPad. I have five here in the house and while they work great, they are all older than dirt.
And yes, in hindsight I can see that it is indeed a "Marcus" issue more than a FlexRadio issue.
To insure some forward compatibility (longevity) I would recommend going with an iPad equipped with an "M" series processor over the "A" series processor.
