Flex 8600 & Acom 1400S CAT connection

Hi there

I successfully (almost;) managed to connect Acom 1400S to my Flex 8600 using FTDI USB-RS232 converter cable. I see the USB cable in the Flex settings (set to CAT) and on Acom - I have green CAT connection to Flex. The only thing that is missing is the automating band switching, so that Acom would “follow” bands I select on the Flex.

I wonder can you guys advise me on correct Flex settings, please?

I'd be more than happy to get it working in 100%

Have a look at this, it's my way

To transfer the frequency, the connection from the USB port of the 8600
to the ACOM PA is used via an FTDI adapter.

Then go to SmartSDR under Settings, USB Cables.
Set the desired parameters for the ACOM: TX Slice, baud rate 38400, 8-bit, 0, 1, 0.
On the ACOM PA, set No. 5 for Kenwood.

    Hi Klaus!

You just made my day! I applied your settings, and it worked out just fine. Now, they "talk" to each other without problems and the PA follows Flex' frequency and I don't have to worry about any incorrect operating frequency. Thank you one more time!

PS. I will send this instruction to Acom in case they'd receive similar questions 👍️
