GNSS question

Can I use an extension cable with the gnss antenna? Window and radio are over 15 feet apart. All I see is the flashing yellow led.
Using an 8600M.

So I have tried the GNSS dongle in 3 different locations in the shack, with no joy. I have another radio which its GPS dongle connects fairly quickly and a WSPR transmitter that connects almost immediately. ( BTW It seemed like GNSS did connect occasionally when I first got 8600 and before latest firmware update)

    So any suggestions?

Should I but an extension cable mentioned earlier and get closer to window?

    running V 4.1.5 on a Win 11 pc.

Closer to windows will definitely help depending on which direction they face. The short time I had a 8600M before returning it, I put the GNSS receiver in a northwest facing window. It didn't take long for it to find and lock on to several satellites. But, if I just sat it on a shelf above the table my radio was sitting on, it rarely would get a lock.

I just ordered an 18 ft extension cable - we'll see if that helps. thanks for response.

Still curious why the GNSS dongle doesn't connect and my others do sitting on same desktop?
