New 60 Meter privileges coming up in 30 days....

The new FCC rules for 60 meters were published this morning in the Federal Register. This means that they'll go into effect 30 days from today.

Question: Will a revised TURF file be available for Flex owners?

Hi Jim… I would open up a Help Desk Ticket requesting this. It may take them a week or so to build and test the new TURF file, but you'll then be 'in the queue'…

Well when asked over one month ago, a Flex rep said they "…were aware of this." Since it affects all Flex users (at least those who use 60 meters in all ITU Regions), I'd think they wouldn't want that many folks opening Help Desk tickets. It would be best to give us a clue as to their plans.

HI Jim… I think (I could be wrong on this) that TURF files are radio-specific. At least, the ones I received to open up 60m for my Canadian radio was set to my serial #.

And, the FCC change just affects US hams. Those of us in Canada have different 60m capabilities, as do those in various countries in Europe.

Maybe the delay is due to Flex trying to figure out how to send new TURF files to each of the US flex owners???
