ezDV configuration -- HELP?

Hi guys… I have an older ezDV module that I'm trying to get working. It's been sitting on the shelf until I recently reconfigured the shack to put the Flex 6700 'on the network' rather than directly wired to the PC. I'm sure I'm 'on the local network', since SmartSDR on my PC and on my laptop can see it and connect just fine.

So, I upgraded the firmware on the ezDV to 1.1.0 (I hope that's the latest.)

When I power up the module, I can see its wireless network, connect to it and get to the ezDV setup screens. (That's how I updated the firmware :-)).

So, then, I went to the Network tab and selected my home network and put in the proper password. Then, as per instructions, I powered down and restarted the ezDV module, then reconnected to its network to access the Setup screens again.

I selected the Radio tab, selected 'Use Wifi for Radio RX/TX', then selected 'Flex 6000/8000 series's for Radio Type. I expected my Flex 6700 to show up under Radio box, but all I get is 'Other' and no IP address shows up.

So, the ezDV box won't connect to the radio.

Help! What am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

Hi Don, FreeDV has moved on since that device came out. It will not do the newer RADE mode that everyone is using now. The audio quality of RADE is significantly better than the "700" modes of the ezDV.

I would suggest getting the latest version and running it on your PC. I think they also have versions for Linux and Mac.

ok, thanks Len. Understood. I was just hoping to resurrect the old box.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
