How can I hear RX thru Mac?

I've checked every setting I can think of. The Mac's system sounds play fine. I've set the audio to built-in device (I've also tried using several different Bluetooth devices). The main audio volume at the top of SSDR is maxed. AGC is maxed. The panel RX audio volume is maxed. No speaker in SSDR is x-ed out. I've removed the SSDR app, emptied the trash, restarted and then re-downloaded from the App Store and reinstalled. Still no joy. I've tried Settings/Extended/Restore Default. Yet when I restart and re-install my settings are still in SSDR- call, Region, etc. Why? Is there a configuration that is keeping me from hearing RX audio? The other data point is that I cannot see the waterfall either. Network is not set to low bandwidth. Normally I can find settings, fix problems, etc, but this one has me stumped. -de NI0K John

    Hi John -

Did you try my suggestion that I posted to your other question? I think the fact you can't see the waterfall means the install is corrupted. Again, get the very nice app: AppCleaner at  https://community.flexradio.com/home/leaving?allowTrusted=1&target=https%3A%2F%2Ffreemacsoft.net%2Fappcleaner%2F   . It is free, and when you drag the MacSSDR application into AppCleaner, the app and all associated hidden files will be deleted. Then try re-installing the app from the App Store.

    Good luck!

Look for gear icon upper top left of window, set audio output. And make sure DAX button is OFF on the radio controls panel.

    From Marcus:

    "

It is never necessary to reinstall apps.

However, you have installed a newer firmware on your radio, that requires a newer app version and that requires a newer macOS version."

Since my hardware won't support the newer MacOS, I can:

    1. Give up
    2. Downgrade the firmware on the radio and my Windows SmartSDR
    3. Buy a new Mac.

I would buy a Mac-mini m4 for $500 and it's a done deal. Or, Amazon has the m1 version for $245. I use that version and it works absolutely fine. Also runs great on my m2 MacBook Air.
