Boot time for Flex radio

It seems the boot time for my radio has all of a sudden started to take much longer than before! No change of f/w nor h/w. Having the 6500 with its display, I notice my call sign do show after some 45 seconds, but the LED keeps flashing for another minute. With the new Flexunlink s/w I found that I can connect to the radio even if it is still flashing the LED. So it seems the radio is trying to connect to something, but what? The radio is clearly ready but not transmitting the discovery packets. The radio keep doing this for another minute until it considers to be ready to transmit the discovery packets. That extra minute is not a deal breaker but I got me curious :)
The radio and computer is on my LAN, and running SSDR 2.12.1

I have noticed the exact same thing with my 6500.

I have noticed a much longer boot up time on my 6700 lattely, Smart SDR 3.9.19. Not using SmartLink, radio on wired Ethernet over a managed switch.

Same was here on 6600M. Boot time was up to 5 minutes and 15 seconds!! However, it has corrected itself after a couple of days and is back to the usual "windows pc" boot time. Maybe patience will be rewarded?

See my post re. "Slow Boot Time"

Thanks guys for letting us know that it was not just a V4 problem causing extensive boot times. I also had extensive profile loading times but seem to have abated with usage. I wonder what caused these problems fleet wide.

Dont be afraid to do an uninstall of SSDR, cat and dax off your computer reboot. Then do a cold boot to a factory reset on your 6500 and 6700 and leave it on. Install 4.1.5 on to your computer, and then do a reboot. Bring up ssdr and update your radio if it says it needs it. When really bad stuff happens i recreate my profiles from scratch. Id been having the jerking audio on ft8. This cleared it up. Then make sure you shut down the software on your computer before turning off the radio seems to damage stuff sometimes plus dot 3 and dot 5 have had some install boogers. Just do it over reboots are your friends. Erika K0DD
