HF slice + XVTR slice = crash

I tried something new yesterday that crashed SSDR 4.13 basic. I had a couple of slices open (20 & 40 meters) on my 6600 and everything was peachy. Then I decided to open a 3rd slice for my 2M transverter to just monitor a local repeater. It worked ok for a few minutes, then tuning around the 2 meter band caused the whole program to crash. Just wondering if I was expecting too much of the radio to have 2 HF slices + an XVTR slice open at the same time.

Hi Rick, you didn't mention which radio you have. I have an 8600 with a transverter and often have a couple of slices open on 2 and a slice or two open on the HF bands.

I have not had any problems with this arrangement. I did set up my transverter on XVTB so that I can use ANT1 for my HF antennas.

So this doesn't seem to be a problem for the 8600.

I have a 6600. I just tried it again and SSDR immediately crashed (lost contact with the radio). I haven't tried this before so I can't speak to whether this happened with earlier versions. I'm running an i7 PC with 32gb of RAM and Windows 11 pro.

Hi Rick, I would export profiles and do a factory reset. If that doesn't help, submit a help desk ticket.

After resetting I imported only the xvtr settings and it now gets along with the other slices just fine. It must be something in a profile somewhere. And I have about 20 of them :-( Anyway, thanks for the tip!

Thanks for the tip. After the reset I imported only the XVTR settings and it's getting along with the other slices just fine. I guess one of my 20-odd profiles is bad. :-(

Hi Rick, I'm glad that was it. Try re-importing your profiles, if the problem recurs, then yes, you have a corrupt profile. If not, then it was something else and you don't have to recreate your whole profile list.

It was the 40 meter profile. I re-imported all the profiles except the ones using 40M, and those I rebuilt. So far so good.

Good to hear Rick. And thanks for posting your results/resolution. I'm sure it'll help others experiencing problems with new releases.
