Easy search on the web……
To connect the Flex 8600 to the Acom 2000A amplifier, follow these steps:
- Obtain the necessary cables: A USB to DB9 serial interface cable with an FTDI chip and a DB15 to DB9 cable.
- Reconfigure the CAT settings: Set the CAT settings for the Flex 8600 in the Flex USB cable guide and the Acom 2000A amplifier settings.
- Use a Null Modem cable: If the USB/DB9 (FTDI) interface cable is switching Pins 2 and 3, use a Null Modem cable to switch them.
- Follow the instructions: Refer to the Flex USB cable guide for detailed instructions on setting up the CAT control.
By following these steps, you should be able to successfully connect your Flex 8600 to the Acom 2000A amplifier and achieve automatic band changing.
And I believe a RCA jack between the 2000A and TX1 on the flex. The USB FTDI I believe can be purchased here at Flex and the DB15 from DX Engineering. RCA cable, anywhere.
