Can I go back to 3.10.10 from 4.0.1?

4.0.1 is not working. When I installed the new up date I had everything under Smart SDR Cat say not present. I tried to go back to 3.10.10, same thing. I reinstalled 4.0.1 and read every thing I could to get my com ports deleted and reinstalled. I did this with Flex help documents. I did not delete my com ports with device manager.

In WSJT-X I am not receiving, yet "Test CAT" and "Test PTT" works. WSJT-X reads the frequency of the radio. My logging program also reads the frequency of the radio. If I change bands in WSJT the radio disconnects from WSJT. When I set the sound settings in Windows 10 Pro for WSJT they revert back to the Windows default.

WSJT at one point started receiving on it's own. I do not know why as I didn't do anything. I tried to make a contact, it transmitted 3 times before I seen that it was not receiving again.

When 3.10.10 was installed everything was working well. I did CQWW last weekend and FT8 all this week.

Can I go back to 3.10.10 with out getting Smart SDR Cat saying all of my ports are "Not Present"? Or, do I have bigger issues?

73, and Thank you,

Bill KV3R

    Bill,

3.10.10 has a bug that prevents moving back to it properly.. If You want 3.10,, try 3.10.15 instead.

Anytime you down rev, you should also export your profile, do a factor4y reset and import your profiles.

The CAT may be a different issue.

I heard from Eric Wachsmann from the Flex Help Desk. I never would of thought I would get a response on a weekend. Thank you Eric!

It looks like I made mistakes in trying to go back to 3.10.10. I should of reset the radio first. I missed that in my research. The amount of help articles from Flex is so vast (Thank You Flex) I thought, "I can fix this ". I was able to get my Cat not present issue fixed.

I will need to go to the station to reset the radio.

Eric said"We'll get you back up and going". I've been a Ham for 32 years and never had help from a radio manufacturer like this!

Also a thank you to Al K0VM. You and Eric said I needed to do a reset.

If you have been following this, all is well now! Eric Wachsmann and Al K0VM hit the nail on the head. Thanks to both of you. I went to the station today and reset the radio. WSJT is receiving and transmitting. I had one issue that took some time to figure out. My remote antenna switch would not follow the band changes. Turns out my USB cable was set to Bit. Once I changed it back to BCD all was back to normal and SDR is 4.0.1.

I haven't been a Flex user very long and I still consider myself a "Flex Novice". But I try. In one of Mike Walkers videos he said something to the effect of don't be afraid to try, you can't hurt it.

This is an Awesome Community. Glad you all are here! I'm sure I might mess something up again. Just hope it's down the road a piece…
