SmartSDR 4.0.1 is working!
I just upgraded and so far just about everything is working, including SDC. SliceMaster is still not working.
All of my API based utilities and devices are working normally. FRStack looks good. ACLog (N3FJP) looks good.
I was able to get SmartSDR+ and that process worked perfectly.
My (many!) profiles all came across without incident.
The problem with FM repeater offsets that I reported recently is fixed. I see that the offset direction buttons no longer exist in the flag and are now in the control panel. I would like to see them both places so that I don't have to set the slice to active just to see the options.
The ability to change the NR level seems to have disappeared. With my TeensyMaestro, I can set it as with earlier versions of SmartSDR and it is working great. I will submit a help desk ticket for this one.
While I have not operated a lot under the new version, it does seem to be solid.

I think the 6400 is at its processing limit with the new noise reduction methods. If I have two slices open and enable NR, NB and ANF on both slices (not something I usually do…), the audio quality degrades to an unusable degree on both slices. It is the ANF/NR combination that seems to be the main culprit.

I have also noticed the levels for NR NB and ANF have disappeared. Is this now irrelevant with the new algorithms? Are the TCP/TP API equivalent still working?
Thanks,

Also for us CW users with a Maestro, the APF level adjustment slider has disappeared.

Hi Martin, as far as I can tell, the level setting via the API is working. I noticed that I have to set the NR level much higher now (60 vs. 10).

Thanks Len for the heads up. I did play with ANF level on my end but I didn't noticed much difference.

Running SmartSDR 4.01 with Early Access
The Noise reduction now has several switchable algorithms including an AI based one. They really work and Haley mentioned on the YouTube today that the AI model will improve as it matures. Over the years with the 6700 and now 8600 NR has always been disappointing but now Wow what a difference! First impressions 4.01 Awesome!

Do you need the Smartsdr+ paid to get the switchable algorithms. I got an on/off on nr and nb but nothing to adjust. I find the nr is a bit muffled as it was before the update

I believe the new algorithms are only available in the 8xxx series. There is a good post from Mike with a chart and a YouTube in GroupsIO titled

I have a Flex 6600 with firmware version 3.9.19. Everything works perfectly; nothing freezes or crashes. I have a question for advanced users. Is there anything I can improve for free by updating the firmware to 3.10.10? I've read and seen that my colleagues are very complaining about its quality. Or maybe it's best to leave it as is and enjoy it.

Hi Jacek, you can upgrade to V4.0.1 for no cost. Moving to version 4 keeps all bug fixes up to date.
