How do I upgrade 6400M to version 3 without a computer? The radio has internet access.

Hi Rick,
I don't have a M model radio, so I'll let someone else answer that one. But just wanted to say, unless there's something in 3.x that you need now, you might want to wait a short time for the 4.x series to be released with the new licensing scheme.
Version 4.x will be a free upgrade for you (with just the same features you have now) and once you are happy the upgrade is working, you can pay the same $199 fee that 3.x would have cost to you get all the 3.x features enabled, plus the next 12 months of new features. You also have the choice to decide when you pay that upgrade fee, so you can wait until a feature appears that you need. But you'll still be getting the 4.x bug fixes for free in the meantime.
Flex hasn't (as far as I'm aware) given an exact release date for 4.x, but indications are that its not very far away (it has some important bug fixes in it for us SDC users so fingers crossed its soon!).

The major change going from V2 to V3 is the availability of Multi Flex. This feature allows two separate connections to client computers. On an M model, the front display counts as one connection leaving one available for a separate station, either local or remote. As an example during a contest one client could be a run station and the other could be a search and pounce looking for multipliers. Each one has basically complete control of the radio. Some coordination is needed due to sharing some resources, like having only one transmitter. Most of the features/fixes are included in both V2 and V3, so Multi Flex is the main difference. A computer is necessary for the upgrade, as is an internet connection. The update is downloaded to the computer then loaded into the radio. After loading onto the radio, the radio has to “phone home” to update the license in the radio to the new version.
