FiFine USB Mic - MOX Works, Foot Pedal Doesn't

Hello all,
I had been using an el-cheapo Fifine USB desk mic that was getting me glowing audio reports, so I thought I'd get cute and get a "better" one of the same make, model #K688CT with a boom and a hardware foot pedal to key my one month old 8400M. The radio is flashed to the latest SmartSDR version and I am using v3.10.15 in Windows 11 Pro. The foot pedal is a cheap one as well and is the standard SPST type, "Philmore" brand, and requires a 1/4" female to RCA male jumper to connect to the PTT jack on the 8400M. Obviously the 8400M is in the same room.
I immediately discovered that while the foot pedal keys the radio, I have no power output when using my new USB mic. However, when I click the MOX button it works fine and I see the power output and audio levels I'd expect when transmitting. I also still have the stock mic connected to the 8400M and if I use the foot pedal to key the radio I get normal output with it as well.
I see some similar foot pedal comments in some postings here but not sure they are relevant to my issue. I expect I have something misconfigured. Both transmit profile and mic profile are set to "Default". This is how it was with the older USB mic but I was using MOX all the time. The foot pedal seemed like a logical progression.
This is my first FlexRadio and I'm enjoying it thoroughly. I will continue to dig for an answer but if anyone can give me a boot in the right direction I'd be grateful.
Many thanks and 73.

Actually, to possibly answer my own question, it looks like it doesn't work because this combination of setup is not currently supported!

That's a bit of a disappointment, but I'm encouraged that it is being looked into. Apparently I'm back to the MOX button, or the spacebar on the keypad if I can remember to use MOX last before that.
