Working SSB remotely logging program (Logic 10) not working. Flex 6600

I am running remotely. When working FT8 I am connecting to the station with Splashtop a remote program like Team Viewer. All the software is on the computer at the station including Smart SDR. Everything works, The logging program reads frequency and logs the contacts. I can turn the rotor (Hy-Gain with Rotor EZ). I can switch bands on the radio and the antenna switch box will follow (WA4MCM switch box).
When operating SSB, I start Smart SDR at the location away from the station and I am connected to the radio. I am not running Smart SDR on the station computer. All other programs are on the computer at the station. My logging program will not read frequency or log a contact. If I want to turn the rotor I need to make the computer screen at the station the active window. If I change bands on Smart SDR from my operating location the antenna switch box will connect to the correct antenna.
I think I am doing this correctly but not sure. The logging program should work automatically and I should be able to turn the rotor with out making the screen at the station computer the active window.
What am I doing wrong?

Hi Bill, if your logging program is running on the computer at the radio site, you just need to run SmartSDR CAT on that computer. CAT will connect the logger to the rado. You can run CAT without running SmartSDR on that computer.

If I change bands the antenna switch box will select the correct antenna. The logging program does not change frequency. Once I get the frequency working am I going to need 2 monitors so I can see both computers?
I'm lost. Will a Maestro solve the problem?
Before the Flex 6600 I was running a Icom 7300 remotely. It wasn't a walk in the park but, I did get it to work with N1MM and imported my log into my Logic 10 logging program. The flex has been so much better to set up.
It's a keeper I just need some help to figure it out.
