Requested a trade-in for 6600 ...

I am not sure how to proceed. I requested a trade-in for my FlexRadio 6600 towards a new 8600. I send the trade-in form on Monday but didnt hear anything... I did try replying to the trade in email but still nothing. I just ended up ordering a new 8600 today ... I am hoping that somehow the Trade in may still work but I think the wording on the web page was saying trade in value would be provided in 30 days and the ship times are 10 business days for the 8600. My order was shipped right after I placed the order. Anyone know what to do here? thanks / 73 Ira WA1W

    Hi Ira,

So two things: 1) Flex has had erratic communication forever. The Flex marketing guy as always is full of nonsense excuses but the fact is, sometimes they're awesome and sometimes it's nearly impossible.

    2) That said, my experience and that of nearly everyone else I've ever heard of is, you can always count on them to ultimately do the right thing. They're very honorable so it should all work out in the end.

My recommendation is to see if someone from Flex responds to this post and try one or more of these email addresses: info@flex -radio.com, hams@FlexRadio .com or even support@FlexRadio .com. Also try calling at 512 535 4713, option 2 if option 1 doesn't respond or return your voice mail. The trick is to hit almost anybody there. Once you do they'll communicate internally and get the right person to respond. At this particular moment I think they're unusually busy even by their standards so things might be more sluggish than usual.

Hi Russ, thank you for your advice, I just like 2 min ago got a response from regarding my trade in. So I need to decide to sell it privately or trade in ... I found once I get on their radar communications is very good as you said.

thanks again and to the community .. I have loved my 6600 since July but want to get the 8600 as I'll be retiring next year and want to get all my toys now :)

Oh man, if you think you loved your 6600 just wait until you're retired ! You're REALLY gonna love that ! Glad to hear you're hooked up communication wise now. If you can hold out people seem to be reporting good results selling 6600s privately. They're still pretty great radios and will be for some time.
