Mic Preamp for Balanced input 6600

Anyone using a mic preamp on their balanced input? I can't seem to get enough drive with my dynamic mic even with boost on. Looking for something not too expensive.

I use an Aphex 120A Distribution amp with my balanced XLR mic. Although I primarily use this to feed the mic signal to multiple rigs, it also features a +20dB internal jumper, and front-panel gain knobs.

In the Flex world though - you'll have to check carefully to learn if the "balanced" is truly both-sides floated above ground (ie a proper differential signal). My 6400 is not (one side of the "balanced" is actually grounded internally). Thus, I have to follow my Aphex 120A with an ART Dual-Transformer isolator, so one side of the Aphex 120A active output is not shorted to ground :-(

I search around on-line and found a used Aphex 120A for a good price.
