Antenna Gain Anomaly Slice A
I have noticed today that Slice A's ANT gain settings are not the same as the other slices?? See attached picture. All slices are on ANT 1. Radio is new 8600.

Is there a slice open on the 40 meter band in your example?
Each SCU can have its RF gain set independently of the other SCU. Antenna ports on the same SCU must necessarily be the same RF gain.
For this reason, on a two SCU radio like the 8600, different bands are best served with different antenna ports (and therefore different SCUs) so that RF gains can be set independently.
RF gain follows the band and antenna port. If you put a second band on the same port, you will just get one or the other gain settings. For casual operating, this is not usually much of a problem. For contest operation on a crowded band with big sigs, you want to plan your antenna connections appropriately.

Hello Len, I understand the setups when having two SCU's. In my example all three Panadapters and slices are in the same SCU.

hmmmm… I thought/understood that RF Gain setting was on a band-by-band basis? I seem to remember there was a discussion about this a year or so ago, and that was (I think) the result. So, once you set the RF gain for a particular band, it will stay at that until you change it. Thus, yes, you can have different gain settings for the 40, 20, 15 and 10m bands.

Hi Don, Thanks for the response. No, each SCU has its own RF amplifiers that have 6 levels you can switch in. In the 8600 the steps are -8 to +32. You set them in the pull down window at the left of each Panadapter. You can see what I'm referring to in the attached picture. In each slice you can set the AGC/T gain for that slice separately as you said.
