Connector Needed For Heil PR781

New to Flex:

I recently purchased a 6400 from a ham and I would like to adapt a Heil PR781 to my newly obtained 6400. Heil doesn't make the cable, they said Flex does. I reached out to Flex and they said they don't make cables.

It appears Flex at one time sold the cable with the PTT and the Mic Plug. Where are people purchasing the required cable now that both companies don't sell them.

Yes, I could make one, but I would rather buy a proven product and not risk damaging my equipment. My soldering days are coming to a near end.

The 781 mic has an XLR connector. The 6400 uses an 1/8 inch (3.5mm) TRS jack for the mic input. Good ole Amazon has multiple XLR to 1/8 inch mic cables in various lengths. They are priced in the 10 to 12 dollar range. I use several of the Amazon cables to interface my FLEX radios.

Don't for get to turn the 6400's mic bias off.

Be sure the cable is a "Truely Balanced" XLR to TRS cable. Many that are sold are designed to interface with a computer and are NOT balanced. These will not work with the radio!

I’ve been recommending www.w2ihy.com to customers.
Julius makes good quality cables. Check out custom cables on his site.
