Being prompted to buy a license after installing v3.10.10?

If you already had a SmartSDR v3 license and you're being prompted to buy a license after installing v3.10.10, please make sure that your radio has internet access. The radio is setup to pull licensing info automatically when connected to the internet and due to some changes made in this release, previous local copies of the license do not carry forward.

One common scenario is where you have the radio connected via ethernet directly to your laptop which accesses the internet via WiFi. In this config, the radio actually doesn't have internet access and won't be able to obtain your valid license (and will prompt you to buy). Connecting your radio to the internet for a single boot cycle should address this issue. At that point, you should be able to return to your original config, if desired.

If you do end up purchasing a license that you don't need, we will respond with a note to the effect that the license purchase is a duplicate and we will refund the purchase. If you continue to have trouble, please open a helpdesk ticket by visiting helpdesk.flexradio.com and we'll help you get things sorted out.

Thanks for posting this explanation, Eric. As I mentioned in my post in the other 3.10.10, I got caught in this with my rig that is directly connected to my PC — no connection to the LAN or internet at all.

Tim was able to get me fixed up, but for others like me, it will require you to disconnect the radio from the PC and temporarily connect to the internet.

I've been thinking about buying a switch to connect both the PC and the radio together and to the LAN, so maybe now I'll have to move that purchase forward :-)

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
