No FT8, RTTY, PSK… on MacOS - Better fresh installation?

Hello all,

I don not use the FT8-Client, neither RTTY/PSK-Client build into SSDR for Mac too often. But I am fairly confident that I am using the client in the right manber.

I upgraded to the latest Apple’s MacOS release the last days and non of the clients is currently working in TX mode -*strange*.

I can decode any audio on all bands, but when in TX mode, SSDR is switching into TX-Mode incl. the rest of chain, PowerGenuis, TunerGenius, etc. but no power going out.

There is NO TX signal going out, neither in SSDR, nor on the PowerGenius. The e.g FT8 Client is switching into TX mode, I can see the red TX progress bar moving, but I can’t hear via the monitor any TX signal nor is any signal reaching the PA.

SSB and CW are working fine as always…

Any idea?

Would you recommend a fresh installation?

Which folders to be deleted for fresh installation?

Which folders to copy for Macros?

    Hello Jens -

I would recommend that you do the following:

    1. If you have any special settings in MacSSDR, save them.
    2. Get the very nice app: AppCleaner at https://freemacsoft.net/appcleaner/ . It is free, and when you drag the MacSSDR application into AppCleaner, the app and all associated hidden files will be deleted.
    3. Reinstall MacSSDR.

If this doesn't work, just go to the "Help" menu in MacSSDR, and select "Contact support…" An email message to Marco will be created with all of the required preliminary information.

    Good luck!

Thanks for the hint. I am already in contact with Markus. He is currently in Japan for the Tokyo HamFair…

He also indicated already that might be a HW issue with my old lady 6700.

are you using xdax and xcat fromn mario. ? they are not part of marcus s/w.

also are you using loopback to route audio ?

the issue maybe about giving microphone access to the apps xdax in the privacy setting of macos

    this has been

    documented on the site here

    this may help

    aslo

i run flex 6600m and can run four slices with four instances of wsjtx on mac mini M1 with MacOS15.6.1

    and

i also run Fldigi for rtty…

    also SDC for CW Skimmer

your 6700 should not be an issue..
