Mouse movement causes frequency change. this is critical.

Just starting today (weird)… when I move the mouse sideways (Left-right), the frequency changes in SDR. The focus is NOT on SDR. I have the radio on a 2nd screen and I am doing something (anything) on the main screen and the frequency changes! this is preventing me from using the radio properly. I.E. if I do something in the SDR, like adjust the volume, then move the mouse LEFT to go to the 1st screen logging program (LOG4OM), the frequency lowers (as the mouse moved right to left). Going back to the SDR program to fix the frequency causes it to got UP (left to right movement). This is crazy.

BTW, the mouse WHEEL works properly and perfectly (that is, when on the SDR it changes freq and when on a webpage it scrolls the text; no change of focus needed). I have a flex control and that works ok too.

Windows 11, Flex 6600, SDR v3.8.23, Flex-Control, LOG4OM, wsjt-x, etc. etc. USB wired mouse. Operating local (home with radio and PC adjacent.

Also, the Focus Helper setting that I read about does not appear in my setup.

I've rebooted everything. This is making the radio near;y unusable, as any mouse movement seems to change the frequency.

Hi Joe… if this is a 'new' behaviour on a previously working fine arrangement, I'd suggest a restart/reboot of everything to see if that clears things up.

Otherwise, it could be that the FlexControl is mixing up USB signals from your mouse with those it's expecting from the control itself (which I believe has a setting to allow it to change frequency if you rotate the dial), so I would start there. Maybe try removing FlexControl and see if that solves the mouse movement problem.

I had the same problem. If you're using Windows 11, double check your dual monitor settings. If you haven't correctly ID'd the main monitor, then clicked the APPLY button, you have to move your mouse backwards to get to the other screen.

Thanks folks. I have no problem moving the mouse from screen to screen properly. I did move the SDR to the 'main' screen just to see if the problem remained with only one monitor in use.

I hate to say this, but the problem has disappeared! I don't think it was anything I did. I do reboot at least once a day, and weather has been such my radio is off (ant disconnected) at least once a day also.

I have my fingers crossed it doesn't come up again, because the only solution I has was to LOCK the freq in after delicatly selecting it (usually with the FlexControl). Which was tolerable for FT8, but otherwise is not a real workaround.
