I am trying to get rigctl(d) to run but with no lock.

SmartSDR pc is 192.168.20.200/256
Flex 6400 is 192.168.20.40/256
I have tried:

rigctl -m 2036 -r 192.168.20.40:4992 -vvvv
rigctld -m 2036 -r 192.168.20.40:4992 -vvvv
rigctl -m 2036 -r localhost:4992 -vvvv

I did get working with CAT port.

Suggests?

Hamlib model 2036 isn't for speaking the native API, it speaks the "Flex dialect" of Kenwood CAT used by the SmartSDR CAT virtual serial port.

The native support is models 23005 through 23012 (for slices A through H).

You may also want to consider using my nCAT app, which is separate from hamlib/rigctl but supports considerably more features of the radio than the native hamlib support, and also supports discovery so that you don't have to program in the IP address.

Back when I created nCAT in 2020, a hamlib "rig" that ran over the network wasn't possible. It's nifty that it is now, but they have some catching up to do.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
