All SmartSDR CAT ports all show as 'Not Present'. Help...

Ok folks I have reached the 'pulling my hair out' phase with this issue. SmartSDR CAT is showing all of my ports as 'Not Present' (see attached screen shot). I have tried everything including completely uninstalling and reinstalling Smart SDR.

I'm running windows 11 and am fully up to date. Running latest version of SmartSDR. When looking at the device manager COM ports are present and report as working properly(see attached screen shot)

Anyone have a clue as to what the issue may be?

All help appreciated!

Update: I again uninstalled SmartSDR and also uninstalled FlexVSP. Reinstalled everything. SmartSDR CAT seems to install two ports by default. COM8 tied to Slice A and a TCP port 5002. Both are reporting as 'Not Present' in SmartSDR CAT.

As a side note my FlexControl (COM7) is working just fine.

I have to ask, I'm not near a radio, but is Slice A active?

Ok, I figured a workaround. If I explicitly pick a profile after starting up SmartSDR, the ports magically become present

"Not present" is reporting that the related slice (A,B,C,etc.) is not present ( not running ) in SSDR. Therefor nothing for the CAT port to work with.

And you found a solution for creating a Slice. I am surprised that there was not a slice running when your first started SSDR.

I ran into the exact same thing this morning as well. I am also running windows 11. I did try restarting the computer with no change and then I did the radio with no change. The step that @W9TVX mentioned above of choosing a profile did work however. Very odd behavior

I had this same issue today for the first time. Coincidently I was reading this post and noticed the red Not Present in SmartCat for WSJT and Logger32. I first tried choosing a profile but that didn't work. Rebooting the computer fixed the problem. Win 11, v3.9.16, Flex 8600M.
