Multiple TGXL?

Hi, is it possible to run two TGXL tuners and two apps on one computer, both connected to a single Flex 6600 and a PGXL? One TGXL on A and the other on B?

Doesn't seem like it should be a problem, I wonder if there was any special way the 2nd TGXL app should be installed? (windows)

Thanks and 73

just wondering why you would want to run two different timers when the Power Genius and 6600 can only transmit on one antenna port at a time? I would think the SO2R TG XL would suffice.

The tuner Genius app installs in the same directory when you upgrade versions. I have not tested copying the install to a different folder.

Dave, just wondering.. perhaps you can shed light on my TGXL…

When I switch TX to a particular slice, it then associates with a particular antenna on the TGXL…. any other slice connected to another antenna on the TGXL is then attenuated as it is not connected? As I see the noise floor drop on those slices and signals are attenuated.

So maybe I have the TGXL programmed wrong, I wanted to be able to monitor the other antennas full capability at the same time I was on a particular slice.

    Thanks

I am guessing you have the SO2R TG XL?

You can only have two antennas connected to the 6600 at a time (Ant 1 of 6600 on A side of TG XL and ANT 2 on B side. ).

With that said, watching the TG XL app, whichever side of the tuner is active will have an outline around the box to right of A or B.

The AG app will show which antenna port is active for A and for B. If A side of tuner is active (highlight around radio name for A side of tuner) and you have Bypass tuner on RX unchecked, the TG XL tuning will act as a bandpass filter and attenuate signals for any other slices on other bands using Ant1. You can check the box in TG XL Other tab to bypass tuner during receive.

The side of the tuner not active has the selected antenna passed straight through to the radio.

some screenshots of your issue would help to see exactly what you are trying to describe.

    I have a 1x3 - I will look into you comments. Thanks!

I had thought you had the SO2R model tuner.
The 1x3 as designed only has 1 RF input from the radio/amp and a built in 3 position antenna switch. So if you switch to a slice that is using antenna 1 on the tuner, all slices will use antenna 1 connected to the tuner.

This is assuming all of your antennas are connected to the 1x3 TG XL.

You could replace the 1x3 TG XL with the SO2R TG XL then add the 2x8 Antenna Genius. This allows using any two of up to 8 antennas (or up to 32 antennas if you add more AGs.)
