Flexradio and Ham Radio Deluxe

While at Hamvention I stopped at the Ham Radio Deluxe Booth. I asked a simple question and it was will Ham Radio Deluxe Spots from a telnet address forward the spots to SmartSDR? I was very surprised that the man that was present at the time did not know if it did or not. Yet, the next morning at the Hotel Breakfast a fellow ham said that it would. I am wondering if anyone in the Flexradio Community is currently using Ham Radio Deluxe with their Flexradio. I myself, currently use N3FJP A/C Log. And to be honest it has worked rather well with my Flexradio 8400M

    hi Mark

    In order to get spots on the panadapter on either SmartSDR or Maestro the spots have to be sent via the Flex API or as N1MM formatted UDP. As far as I know, HRD does neither. They currently do not have a connection to the Flex via API, but rather a com port in CAT.

    The good news is I spoke to Dr. Michael Carper (owner of HRD) and I will be invited to their beta team. I’ll be able to help make suggestions for their redesign of rig control in the next major release of HRD.

    No promises but at least we will have better communications between the two companies.

    I had the problem of getting the Flex 6500 to connect to HRD and finally had HRD find the port in the rig control setting and it connected. Now I am able to control the radio via HRD.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
