VST Plug-Ins integration

Member ✭✭

Hi @all,

I would like to see the option of using “VST plugins” integrated. VST plugins give the user an incredible number of possibilities to use audio tools flexibly. This was implemented many years ago in the SDR app “Zeus ZS-1” from HFR ELECTRONICS [https://www.hfrelectronics.com].

My radio friend has a Zeus SDR radio, so I was able to look at and test everything. I am really impressed. Not only the flexibility of being able to easily install any “VST plugin” or function without having to deal with the FlexRadio developers, but also the result of the audio!

I am attaching screenshots and a video!

Best regards!

You can use VST Host with VST plug-ins connected with DAX and tailor receive and transmit audio with SmartSDR.

I already use “Audio Hijack” on macOS to enhance my modulation with VST plug-ins.

The problem is that although all devices are in the same local network, the audio has dropouts, loud crackling and other noises occur and even loud beeps can be heard from time to time. If the VST plug-ins were integrated, such errors would not occur.

I really like the Flex-8600M but the audio processing, the catastrophic equalizer, the compressor is far from what I know and the downward expander doesn't work for me at all. I have never been as dissatisfied and frustrated with the audio and the lack of tools as with the Flexradio.

I assume that, as I got to know Flexradio in the first 3 months as a new Flexradio customer, that changes and improvements to the audio processing will never be realized, or perhaps in 10-20 years.

If Flexradio would take a look at competitors like Expert Electronics, you would notice that the competition has completely flexible equalizers, many filters, phase rotators, limiters, noise gates, configurable compressors, and so on. There are also functioning remote solutions and they are certainly no longer unique selling points that would allow us to ignore all the wishes and ideas of users with blinkers on.

If I can't find a solution to send clean audio (no I don't want to hear that you can use the existing EQ and you can adjust every microphone great. It's just not right! The audio that Flex produces is musty, flat, without dynamics and absolutely bad).

If the new firmware v.3.9 still contains the same bugs (which I assume it does because Flexradio is working on completely different projects and apparently only released the 8000 series to earn some money until Aurora is ready), then I'm not sure. In any case, I feel like Flexradio deliberately **** me on this point! I would never have bought the 8600M in February if I had known that the much better device would be introduced less than 3 months later.

I think I will sell everything by the end of June at the latest!

I don't need any answers! Thank you!
