Bandmaster V Array Solutions

I managed to find a Bandmaster V unit on Ebay that works perfectly and I bought it.
I have a question for you if you are so kind to help me, I connected the Bandmaster to my Yaesu 101MP with the cat and it works fine.
I wanted to connect my Flexradio 8400M with the normal USB cable (without FTDI chip) to the USB port, SmartSdr recognizes it and I see data traffic in the USB port log, but in the Bandmaster setup with Flex USB settings and speed 9600 (but also with others) it cannot decode the band.
The USB port works correctly and I updated the Bandmaster to the latest version available on the site.
What do you think is the problem?
Do I necessarily have to use an FTDI cable from the Flex and use band data protocol in the bandmaster?

    use an FTDI cable USB to serial. Set the Bandmaster V for Kenwood CAT.

    Or you can use a USB to BIT cable with FTDI chipset and set it to BCD in Flex setup.

    Thanks for the reply, on many forums I read that a normal USB cable was enough for the 6XXX series, like for printers. Evidently with the new Flex they necessarily need an original FTDI chipset.

    the device (Bandmaster) would need to use an FTDI based USB chip. Flex will only correctly work with devices that use FTDI.
    Prolific and other non-FTDI USB interfaces will not work.

    The 6000 and 8000 series are designed with the FTDI driver in the radio operating system. At least with the Bandmaster V, you have options.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
