6600M with blemishes

This rig has been my main rig for the last 3 years. In that time I have managed to put a light scratch on the display. A big scratch on the right side (darkened with felt tip marker) (don't move equipment with a watch on) and a bunch of scratches on the back panel. From reaching over the top and trying to plug things in with a mirror.

I changed the overlays on all the front panel switches, but in the process managed to mess up a tiny ribbon cable. So when I put it back together, the front panel wouldn't boot. Off to Flex it went. They replaced the cable and now the front panel boots just fine. They also found a problem I wasn't aware of. The 160m preamp on both receivers failed. They replaced a few small parts and all is right with the world.

Their is one other problem that I have encountered with this rig. If it is left on too long (in excess of 24 hours) the right one inch of the display will ghost on to the left one inch of the display. This is caused by heat. I first noticed it when it was placed above a power supply that was over heating. I moved the PS and the problem went away. I've not thought much about this, because I never leave it on that long. It's done it for years, but I couldn't in good conscience sell it without mentioning it and is one of the reasons it is priced like it is. This rig is not failing. It has done this off and on since I got it. It always boots up and works. I didn't have to mention this glitch, but I did. It's called honesty.

This thing works just fine, but it's not without it's faults. Boxes, mic, ethernet and power cable.
