Flex 8600: No Mic Compression Indication While in Split

I was attempting to work VU4AX via split on 12m (no luck by the way)

I noticed that while in split (listen on slice A, transmit slice B) there IS an indication of Mic gain in the level meter, but NO indication of mic compression in the level meter. As soon as I turn split off and receive/transmit in Slice A I get an indication of mic compression in the level meter.

I reversed how I normally operate split by receiving in slice B and transmitting in slice A. When I do this I get an indication of mic compression in the level meter.

It appears that mic compression is not measured unless one is transmitting via slice A.

Is this a known issue or do I have a setting incorrect somewhere?

Running SmartSDR 3.8.23.35640 / 8600 (non m)

    Hi Rich, that is an interesting finding. As an additional data point, my 6400 running 3.8.23 shows the compression level when in split mode.

    When you are in split mode, the PROC is enabled - correct?

    Ok Rich, that sounds like a bug. Might want to submit a help desk ticket so that Flex is aware of it.

    Tim confirmed that this is a known software issue which will be resolved in the next software release.

    I suspect that if the level's are correct in Slice A, they are probably fine in Slice B,C,D.

    So probably not a big deal.

    Hi Rich. Good to know. Yes, the level will be exactly the same across slices, so you are safe there.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
