MKU 10 G5, 3 cm Transverter and Flexradio 8600
I would like to use the HUHNE 10Ghz transverter with my flexradio, I read it's possible with Low power IF mode input. I would like to know if there are radio amateurs who have had this experience and what they think and how they find it, considering that the transverter will be under the satellite dish on the roof of the house I have to go up with a cable of about 25m to bring IF above.

I think that the MKU 10 G5 needs a minimum of .5 watts (27 dBm) to operate at full power out. The output of the Flex transverter port is adjustable from -10 dBm to +10 dBm. You would either need an LNA on transmit to boost the TX signal to .5 - 5 watts or you would need to use ANT1 or ANT2 at reduced power. The danger is accidentally transmitting more than 5 watts into the transverter. You might want to ask Kuhne about this to see if they have a Flex-friendly solution. Perhaps there is a way to bypass the input attenuator.
The 25 meter IF cable from the transverter to the radio should not be a problem. The Flex has plenty of preamp to make up any line losses assuming an IF of 28 or 50 MHz.
