Is it possible to "quick record" transmitted audio in Mac SmartSDR?
I am attempting to record my transmitted audio in the Mac SmartSDR app, but can't make it work. I have a mic connected to a USB audio interface, and the audio signal gets out fine on SSB. I can also successfully record Voice macros.
I can record and play back received audio just fine by hitting the "Rec" button. However, recording doesn't appear to work for transmitted audio. When I play back the transmission recording, all I get is dead air. Marcus' documentation doesn't cover the topic at all, and defers missing topics to the Windows manual.
The Windows SSDR manual states:
The Quick Record and Playback feature in SmartSDR can be used to monitor your transmitted audio. The audio recorded in this manner represents transmitted audio using all the enabled signal processing features so that adjustments can be made to optimize your transmitted audio.
Am I doing something wrong, or is MacSSDR incapable of recording transmitted audio? I'd like to get this working so I can adjust my microphone settings.
Here's a pic of my audio settings. (Volt 2 is my USB audio interface):

I got this working. The trick is to make certain MON is turned on in the Mic section. Smooth as butter.
Also, Len, I checked out the NM9P video, and did the FDX trick. VERY slick. I never knew this was possible. I will now be sounding as mellifluous as possible on sideband.

Excellent! When I first got my 6400, I thought FDX was interesting, but not all that useful for what I do. Boy, was I wrong! Once I used Ken's method for adjusting my audio, I have only gotten good audio reports.
With mic profiles, you can set up for all occasions - breaking DX pileups, rag chew, contesting, etc etc.

Hi Bill, the better way to adjust mic settings is to use Full Duplex (FDX). Ken, NM9P has some excellent YouTube videos on the topic. I haven't used MacSSDR, but I would think that FDX is available.
I plan on being at lunch, so if you come today, we can chat more about it.
