Adjusting AGC-T -- with ATU 'set' or not
Maybe this is a newbie type of quetion, but after 5 years of Flex ownership and using AGC-T, this just occurred to me….
Should I be adjusting the AGC-T with the ATU in bypass mode or should I let the ATU find a 'solution' for the frequency (sometimes increasing noise as well as signals) THEN adjust the AGC-T?
Or does it even matter?
Thoughts?

Hi Don, adjust the AGC-T with the ATU set the way you will have it set during operation. So if will be engaged while operating, engage it, and then set the AGC-T.

"Or does it even matter?"
I do not see ATU affect AGC-T, so it does not matter (for me).
You can experiment and see if you notice any difference.

Hi Don, one other thought. If the antenna is near resonance, then whether the tuner is in or out probably doesn't make much difference. If the antenna is pretty far off resonance (or is a non-resonant type), you should get better results adjusting the AGC-T with the tuner inline and tuned.

Hi Len… yea, that's what I was thinking as well, as my experience (43' vertical) is that when the ATU has found a 'solution', noise and signal strength both increase.
Adjusting AGC-T after ATU was what I was doing in the past, but when I had to re-do the ATU after the .21 update, it starting me thinking. (a dangerous thing :-) )
Anyway, thanks for the confirmation.
