8600- mike input

Member ✭✭✭

What is its impedance?

Is it suitable for connecting a dynamic mike?

Is there somewhere a circuit diagram of FH 3 mike which comes together with 8600?

I remember checking with Flex a while back about the mic impedance…don't remember exactly what it was except that it's perfectly compatible with a dynamic mic. I have a Behringer Ultravoice mic connected directly and get great audio reports.

I seem to remember that the mic input is high impedance, varying somewhat with mic gain. These days mic inputs (for mixing boards, etc.) are almost always bridging… maybe 2000 ohms or higher. The old days of terminating a mic at the input are gone!

Specs for 6600(assume they are the same for the 8600) are 600 Ohms Nominal, 200-10k ohm. If you use a dynamic mic you'll probably have to use the 20db boost in the settings and no bias, of course.

    I have used a Heil PR-22UT (Dynamic) for about 11 years on a 1500, 6500, 6400, 6600, and now an 8600.
I use the +20 dB Mic Boost and run the Mic Gain to about 80-85 with my voice. It works great.
