Add a CW "Sidetone Check" Button in P/CW Window

While operating CW, it would be convenient to have a CW "Sidetone Check" button in the P/CW window. This would allow an operator to resonate or check that his transmitting frequency is close to the other station's frequency without actually having to transmit RF. A convenient location would be below the "Sidetone" button.

    Would this "auto zero beat" feature do want you want? It has 110 votes ( number 2 on the list by votes).

    Auto zero beat should or would work, but I'm sure it's more complicated to implement. I merely want to press a button to hear the sidetone without transmitting so that I can resonate the sidetone - presumably zero beated - to the tuned CW station.

    What I tend to do: in SmartSDR or Maestro, I turn ON the sidetone (pitch at my 850Hz choice). Then, for tuning purposes and matching the tone, I turn OFF Breakin. Now, it's like the Olden Days, where you close your key to hear your sidetone, but you are not transmitting.

    Turn Breakin back ON to go live. And at least this is located about where you wanted it 😀

    AutoZeroBeat would be even better, but I'm used to tone-matching this way, for now.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
