6600 configuration for satellite work?
Reposting this for Gene….
I am a new Flex 6600M owner and am transitioning from an Icom 9700 for sat work. I have read and watched most of the videos on using the Flex 6000 radios for satellites. I fell pretty confident that I can get the 6600 up and running to work the LEO sats using SatPC32 and the Q5 transverters, which I will be getting next week. The video from VA3MW was very educational. My goal is to also get it working for IO-117, using the sound modem and terminal programs that I have down loaded. Since this requires transmitting and receiving on the same band with a 1200hz offset, plus dealing with the doppler shift, it's a a lot to accomplish. Is there any straightforward way to do this ? I see some guys using PST Rotator, some using MacDoppler and some on SAT PC 32. I have a fair amount of experience with Sat PC32, but I can't see any provision in that program to handle the up and down link being in the same band, which I assume would be done using split. I would appreciate any recommendations that anyone can offer. Thanks in advance for your help.

Unlike a Icom 9700 that is one radio with two VFOs, your Flex 6600 looks like four radios to SatPC32. You only need two radios.
In your Flex CAT application, set up two COM port CATs, one for Slice A (Downlink) and Slice B(uplink).
In SatPC32, set radio one to the COM port for Slice A, and radio two to the COM for Slice B.
In Flex DAX, set up an. audio COM port for Slice A. In the UZ7HO sound modem, set modem A to the audio COM port set up for slice A in DAX.
You are now set up to work IO117
SatPC32 will do the doppler calculations, up and down.
You may need to adjust the SatPC32 text file for up/down frequency. Other may have what the best adjustments are.
For other sats, the FDX feature in he 6600 allows you to hear your uplink.
